Connecticut Chinese Language Academy (CCLA) – Vice Principal
Job Description:
The Connecticut Chinese Language Academy (CCLA) Vice Principal is the vice executive operating officer for CCLA. Reporting directly to the school Principal, the Vice Principal helps build and maintain academic programs and manages all activities, including the management of day-to-day operations, administration, and facilities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the principal, Chinese Culture Center (CCC) Education Committee, CCLA Administration Team, teachers, parents, students, and community members to promote the educational development and enhance Chinese culture of every student. The successful candidate will also assist to achieve the goal of establishing and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment in the school, where each student is challenged in an atmosphere that promotes intellectual development, creativity and inquiry.
Job Duties:
1. Lead the effort of teaching quality control and continuous quality improvement
2. Participate in teacher recruitment and hiring process;
3. Assist the Principal in teacher management: teacher scheduling and contingency planning,
4. Manage peer knowledge exchange network and participation;
5. Help with registration management: onsite registration assistance, literacy assistance, and class placement;
6. Help organize school events and activities;
7. Help with school onsite operation
8. Help with school newsletter management;
9. Help yearbook planning;
10. Work closely with PTO to seek necessary support;
11. Participate in School Admin meetings, parents meetings and teachers meetings
12. Participate in financial planning and budget at the end of a school year;
13. Others deemed necessary by the Principal.
Requirements:
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Fluent in Chinese and English
· 2 years teaching and/or administration experience preferred, CCLA preferred
· Responsible, multi-tasking, detail-oriented, and motivated
· BA/BS degree or higher from the U.S.
· US citizenship, Green Card, or legal US work permit
Term:
· 2-year term, renewable

Job Description:
• Maintain and monitor the online database, contact vendor if there is any problem.
• Before the beginning of the new school year registration, update the fee, class,and other system info, test the system. Upload the new documentation to the website as requested by the admin team.
• Help user registration, answer questions about the online registration.
• Help upload class assignment of students, classrooms and teachers to the database.
• Get Chinese Culture Center (CCC) Member List report as needed.
• Get detailed report for the student’s payment as needed.
• Maintain teachers’ information.
• Work with other team members and get info from the system as needed.
• Maintain and make small changes to the system as needed.
• Be able to update some features upon school’s requests
Requirements:
1. Good working knowledge of the principles of database design and application development.
2. Considerable knowledge and ability in writing program interfaces.
3. Preferred at least 2 years experience with PHP and MySQL knowledge.
4. Ability to pay close attention to details.
5. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Job Description:
To ensure CCLA fulfills its mission on a financially sound ground.
During school registration period: collecting checks, auditing data entered into school's system, summarizing, forwarding checks and summary report to Chinese Culture Center (CCC) Treasurer for bank deposit, ensuring accuracy of the whole process.
Provide the principal and CCLA Administration Team financial condition in a timely manner, including: revenue from language class tuition, after school activity (ASA) tuition, school registration, and other sources.
Expense tracking: teachers’ pay, staff pay, classroom supplies, school event expenses, and other incidental expenses; report possible funding short fall or surplus to the principal and suggest solutions.
Provide interim finance reports and a final financial statement at the end of school year.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the U.S., and other necessary business skills.
US citizenship, Green Card, or with legal US work permit.
Hours estimated: Average 2 -4 hours per week, heavily concentrated at the beginning and end of the school year.

The CCLA administrative team is an integral part of the school. The team members, the Principal, Campus Director, Financial Officer, Textbook Manager, IT Manager, and Website Manager are responsible for the daily operation of the school. They directly contribute to the smooth operation of the school in an organized fashion. The team also works with the CCC Education Committee to define school functions and policies, and plan for a year school.
There is one administrative position opens for the next school year 2012-2013:
Campus Director
We are looking for responsible individuals who love our school and are willing to help and contribute.
